Rookies game opening soon
June 6, 2008Few days without news, but we have been fixing internal stuff and testing new variations of the algorithm to select the nominees, improving performance, etc. In the meantime we have also received many great ideas to improve the game and finally we will add some variations to the soon available “Rookies” level game on Tengaged.
Mainly this a brief summary of what this new level is going to be:
- Only players with a minimum karma can play: So hopefully we will get rid of those players that just enroll and never participate on the game.
- HoH: Head of Household. Each day the algorithm will select the HoH. HoH will select the 2 nominees for next day, the third one will be selected by the algorithm.
- PoV: Power of Veto. Each day the algorithm selects the PoV. PoV may take one of the nominees out of the list.
- The game will take little bit longer, initially 9 days instead of 7 days. Karma obtained from this game will be from -5 to +30. Yes, if you get evicted first your Karma will go down. Karma obtained from the #1 Newbies games will be reduced, as well as the daily karma obtained from game participation on the “newbies”.
Remember that we are still on “alpha” release of Tengaged and that means that we are experimenting lots of factors. Changes will be based on your feedback and thanks to all of you who are helping us to improve Tengaged!!

the rookie games are fantastic, the PoV really makes for a great amount of conspiracy, i can’t wait for the next game type to open up and what features it will have
i’ve noticed at the top of the page it shows “Day # of 7″ is that purely cosmetic or has it gone back to being 7 days long?
if people keep being eliminated until theres only 2 left, it’s going to look really silly

. The Rookies is finally 7 days too, we’ve been doing some tests and as you said it probably looks like the best fit..
Next days will see if people likes the 7 days or maybe one day more with 4 participants could be an alternative.
Hi Tengaged is awesome u know wt wud make it even more awesome having tasks and that to do. Tht wud be wiked. I asked alot of people and they all thought it wud be a gr8 idea. Not major tasks just stuff like you got to get certain people to say an exact sentance or your up for nominations or summet like having to choose 1 person to be safe and the rest goes up for noms then the algorhitm. It would be gr8 if there was a walk button aswell so if u had enough and getting bullied or summet u cud jus leave tht wud be mint. and last but not least being able to be ejected for using threatning behaviour and stuff. that wud be AWESOME plz plz plz consider it. especially the walk button.
